1.                 Buffalo State Power Outage

OnSaturday, April 7, 2001, the power will be shut off in the computer room atBuffalo State College.  Starting atapproximately 5 a.m. the will be no NETWORK access (including dial-ins)and no COMPUTER access on campus. Atthis time, there will be NO MAIL, INTERNET access, STARS access, BLACKBOARDaccess, etc.

Weanticipate that the power will be restored and all equipment brought back up byapproximately 7p.m. the same day. Ifthe work is completed earlier, access will be restored earlier.

2.           Supported Oracle / Banner Versions

Beloware a couple tables that show Oracle/Banner versions and platforms that aresupported from Oracles point of view. Itlists the products that are supported and when they expire.

Oraclehas two types of support that SUNY is concerned with:
ECS Error Correction Support
EAS Extended Assistance Support


These are defined as:
ECS - Error CorrectionSupport:
Providesfor telephone and electronic support, consisting of the following:
- Software error correction support
- Backporting of fixes
- Certification with supported products or newer operating systemreleases
- Escalation Support, guaranteed response times or skillavailability

EAS - Extended Assistance Support
Providesfor telephone and electronic support, consisting of the following:
- Answer to customers questions
- Known workarounds
- Assist customers with migration path information
Extended Assistance Support does not provide for the following:
- Software error correction support
- Backporting of fixes
- Certification with supported products or newer operating systemreleases
-Escalation Support, guaranteed response times or skill availability

NOTE:"The SICAS Center says that SCT should provide workarounds for any Oraclebugs that are found with their products after the ECS date if theycertify Banner with that Oracle version." Kathy Paranya
