2. ITEC Scholarship Recipients

In 2004, the staff at ITEC established a scholarship to assist Buffalo State students in easing the burden of college expenses.  Each year a $500 award will be given to one or two students who demonstrate excellence in technology and computers.

This year we awarded the scholarship to two recipients, Donna Frymire and Kathryn Barclay. Donna is a graduate student majoring in Educational Computing. She currently teaches children with emotional and behavioral disabilities at Baker Victory Services. According to Donna, this is a school that has limited technological resources; but she has seen a great deal of progress with her students since introducing technology into her classroom. Kathryn is an undergraduate Technology Education major and is a student assistant at Buffalo State’s Computing & Technology Services Help Desk. Before transferring to Buffalo State, Kathryn earned an A.S. in Computer Technology and an A.A.S. in Computer Information Systems from Monroe Community College. In addition, Kathryn spent one year in the Rochester AmeriCorps program providing assistance to children and adults in a computer lab.

ITEC congratulates Donna and Kathryn on their accomplishments and wishes them success in their future endeavors.
